🚨BREAKING: ACTIVE SEARCH UNDERWAY NEAR ST. DAVID AFTER SUSPECT FLEES🚨
ST. DAVID, AZ — Law enforcement activity is underway in the St. David area Sunday evening as the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office works to locate a suspect who fled from authorities.
The incident involves a reported “bailout,” a term commonly used when an individual abandons a vehicle and runs from law enforcement.
Deputies are actively searching the surrounding area. At this time, authorities have not released information regarding the suspect’s identity or description, the circumstances leading up to the incident, or whether additional individuals may be involved.
Anyone in the area should use caution and remain aware of law enforcement activity. Residents should avoid the active search area and allow deputies to conduct their investigation.
This remains a developing situation. CoolFMLive will continue following the incident and provide confirmed updates as additional information is released.

⚠️ I-10 LANE CLOSURES PLANNED BETWEEN TUCSON AND BENSON SEPT. 14–18 ⚠️
PIMA COUNTY, AZ — Drivers traveling Interstate 10 between Tucson and Benson should plan for delays next week as construction continues near the Amole interchange.
The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) advises that the left lanes of both eastbound and westbound I-10 will be closed daily between mileposts 292 and 293, near Exit 292.
Closures will be in place:
Monday, Sept. 14 through Friday, Sept. 18
5 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily
The restrictions are part of the I-10 Amole Traffic Interchange and UPRR Bridge Rehabilitation Project.
Marsh Station Road will also have daily flagging operations from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday while the I-10 lane closures are in place.
A 16-foot vehicle width restriction remains in effect throughout the project corridor during active lane restrictions, and the speed limit will be reduced to 55 mph.
Drivers traveling between the Tucson and Benson areas should allow additional travel time, expect delays and be prepared to slow down and merge safely when approaching the work zone.
ADOT reminds motorists to use caution around construction crews and equipment.

At just 16 years old, Khloe Markle continues to prove that dedication, hard work and big dreams can take you incredible places.
Khloe has qualified to represent Team USA on the world stage once again, earning a spot on the U21 Women’s Compound World Archery Field Team. She will compete against athletes from around the world in Yankton, South Dakota, at the 2026 World Archery Field Championships later this month — with her sights set on bringing home another World Gold Medal! 🇺🇸
And that’s only part of what Khloe has accomplished.
For the third consecutive year, she qualified for the U18 Women’s Compound USA Archery Team. This summer in Lincoln, Nebraska, she also finished 2nd at JOAD Nationals and 2nd overall in the country in her division.
Her drive extends far beyond the archery range.
Khloe is on track to graduate high school a year early in May 2027, while maintaining honor-roll status and completing more than 35 college credits. After graduation, she plans to attend college in fall 2027, compete on a collegiate archery team and study kinesiology, with the goal of becoming a physical therapist and someday working with children or a sports team.

SIERRA VISTA DEDICATES STU CARTER MEMORIAL BIKEWAY IN HONOR OF A LASTING LEGACY
SIERRA VISTA, AZ — A lasting piece of Sierra Vista will now carry the name of a man who dedicated years of his life to serving veterans, cyclists and the community he called home.
During its regular meeting Thursday, the Sierra Vista City Council dedicated a segment of the city’s multi-use path as the Stu Carter Memorial Bikeway, honoring Stuart “Stu” Carter and his lifetime of service.
The newly named bikeway stretches from the intersection of Highway 92 and Buffalo Soldier Trail northwest along Buffalo Soldier Trail to Fry Boulevard.
Carter moved to Sierra Vista in 2006 and became deeply involved in volunteer service throughout the community. A United States Air Force veteran, he continued serving fellow veterans through leadership roles with numerous veterans organizations.
His impact could also be seen throughout Sierra Vista’s cycling community.
Carter served as president of Cochise Bicycle Advocates, helped advance Sierra Vista’s designation as a Bicycle Friendly Community and played an important role in organizing local cycling events and bringing El Tour de Zona to Sierra Vista.
In 2017, Carter combined two causes especially important to him — veterans and cycling — by founding VeloVets Sierra Vista. The organization promotes the physical and mental well-being of veterans through cycling and a welcoming community. What began with only a handful of cyclists has grown to more than 130 members over the past nine years.
Carter also helped identify areas where additional multi-use paths were needed throughout Sierra Vista, contributing to improved connectivity, transportation options and accessibility, particularly for elderly residents and people with disabilities.
“Stu Carter’s service and commitment touched nearly every part of this community,” Sierra Vista Mayor Clea McCaa said. “This memorial bikeway ensures his name and legacy will remain a lasting part of Sierra Vista.”
It’s a fitting tribute for someone who spent so much time helping create connections throughout Sierra Vista — between pathways, between people and between veterans who found community through cycling.
Now, every ride, walk and journey along the Stu Carter Memorial Bikeway will help carry that legacy forward.

SIERRA VISTA, AZ — Emergency responders are responding to a vehicle accident in the area of 4860 E. Highway 90, near Tractor Supply in Sierra Vista.
Motorists traveling through this portion of Highway 90 are advised to avoid the area if possible and use an alternate route. Drivers who must travel through the area should slow down, remain alert, and give emergency personnel plenty of room to safely assess and handle the situation.
The extent of any injuries and the circumstances surrounding the accident are not known at this time.

TOMBSTONE, AZ — Motorcycles, live music, stunt shows, a town-wide bike show and thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts are set to come together in Tombstone for Live to Ride 2026, October 2–4.
Organized by the team behind the Bisbee Prowl, Live to Ride is gearing up to be one of Southern Arizona’s largest motorcycle gatherings, bringing three days of activities to the streets of historic Tombstone.
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 2
The weekend gets underway at noon as motorcycles begin gathering along 5th Street. Live music will be featured at the Oriental Saloon and Crystal Palace Saloon, along with performances from the Ives Brothers Wall of Death.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 3
Saturday brings the centerpiece of the weekend — a town-wide motorcycle show. Side streets off Allen Street will feature different classes of bikes, including vintage motorcycles, choppers, performance bikes, Viclas and more.
The Discover Tombstone Field will serve as a major hub for the day with live entertainment, food trucks and event activities. The Ives Brothers Wall of Death will also return for more stunt performances.
Historic Allen Street will remain open to pedestrians and stagecoaches, while motorcycles will be displayed and parked along designated side streets based on their class.
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 4
The weekend wraps up Sunday morning with a large motorcycle swap meet — a chance to browse parts, gear and more before Live to Ride 2026 comes to a close.
Another unique part of the weekend is the Key to the City. Ticket holders receive a special key providing admission to the main events and live music while also unlocking discounts at participating Tombstone businesses.
Whether you’re riding into town, coming to check out the bikes or simply looking for a great weekend in Cochise County, Live to Ride 2026 is shaping up to bring a major crowd and plenty of action to Tombstone.

🚨SVPD SEEKS PUBLIC’S HELP IDENTIFYING TWO INDIVIDUALS IN FRAUD INVESTIGATION🚨
The Sierra Vista Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two individuals believed to be connected to a recent fraud investigation involving a local business.
According to information released by the SVPD, the individuals reportedly purchased several hundred dollars worth of merchandise from the business. The credit card used during the transaction was later flagged for fraud.
SVPD has released surveillance images showing the two individuals and is asking anyone who recognizes them or has information that could assist investigators to come forward.
Anyone with information is asked to contact SEACOM at 520-803-3555.
The individuals pictured are being sought for identification as part of the investigation. No determination of guilt should be inferred from their appearance in the surveillance images.
