After more than 20 years on Erie Street, Bisbee Breakfast Club is getting ready to turn the page on an incredible chapter and open the doors to its new home in Old Bisbee!

For more than two decades, the Erie Street location has been filled with early-morning coffee, big breakfasts, conversations between friends, familiar faces and plenty of memories. Now, BBC is heading up the road for its next adventure.

💙 HELPING YOUNG PEOPLE FIND THEIR VOICE — END THE SILENCE YOUTH SUMMIT 2026

Middle and high school students, families and those who work with youth are invited to a FREE day of learning, connection and activities at the End The Silence Youth Summit this Saturday in Sierra Vista.

Hosted by NAMI Southeastern Arizona in collaboration with local community partners, the summit is designed to encourage conversations about mental health while connecting young people and families with information and resources.

The day will feature the Ending the Silence presentation, a Youth Mental Health First Aid overview, health and wellness presentations, resource tables and vision board creation — along with games, door prizes, T-shirts and a free lunch.

‼️COCHISE COUNTY ATTORNEY ISSUES STATEMENT REGARDING JOHN DALY CASE‼️

COCHISE COUNTY, Ariz. — The Cochise County Attorney’s Office released a statement Tuesday, September 23, regarding the John Daly case, announcing that the Cochise County Superior Court granted the office’s request to dismiss with prejudice the kidnapping and sexual assault charges against Daly stemming from a 2001 attack on a woman in Bisbee.

The announcement follows several significant developments surrounding the case and the Cochise County Attorney’s Office.

The Daly case had been scheduled for trial on August 4, 2026, with former Cochise County Attorney Brian McIntyre expected to prosecute the case. McIntyre, who had remained with the office as Chief Criminal Deputy after Lori Zucco became County Attorney, was terminated from his position two days later.

The timing of McIntyre’s termination and the subsequent review of the Daly case provide relevant context to the timeline. However, CoolFMLive has not received information establishing that McIntyre’s termination was the reason the case was ultimately dismissed.

In Tuesday’s statement, Zucco said that when the trial was vacated and she reviewed the case, she discovered what she described as “significant legal infirmities” involving its charging and handling that created evidentiary and procedural issues affecting the office’s ability to successfully try the case.

Below is the statement from Cochise County Attorney Lori Zucco in its entirety:

“Today, the Cochise County Superior Court granted our request to dismiss with prejudice the charges of kidnapping and sexual assault against John Daly arising from a 2001 attack of a woman in Bisbee.

This was an extraordinarily difficult decision, but after a comprehensive review of the case, I concluded it was the responsible, appropriate course of action.

This prosecution was initiated in 2021, approximately 20 years after the crime occurred. At the time it was set for trial in August, it had already been pending for several years. When the trial was vacated and I reviewed the case I discovered significant legal infirmities in both the charging and handling of the case. These problems created evidentiary and procedural issues that deeply impacted our ability to successfully try this case. These issues were not based on the victim’s credibility.

At the same time, Daly faces charges in Maricopa County where he’s accused of assaulting multiple women. I’ve been working closely with the County Attorney there to make sure nothing we do in Cochise County interferes with bringing Daly to justice.

Most importantly, I have personally spoken with the victim in our case about this decision. The Maricopa County Attorney's Office (MCAO) has agreed to provide her with victim notifications and services and to ensure that her voice is heard as the case proceeds. The MCAO victim advocate has already been in contact with her.

Dismissal of this case should in no way be interpreted as diminishing what this woman endured, nor do they reflect any concerns regarding her credibility. She was the victim of a horrific crime, and she has lived with its consequences for nearly 25 years.”

SEPARATE MARICOPA COUNTY CASE CONTINUES

The dismissal announced Tuesday applies specifically to the Cochise County case. Daly continues to face separate charges in Maricopa County, where the Cochise County Attorney’s Office says he is accused of assaulting multiple women.

There was a hearing last week in the Maricopa County case regarding Daly’s release conditions. His initial $500,000 secured bond was changed to a $500,000 cash bond.

This means Daly would have to post the full $500,000 in cash to be released. If that bond is posted, his release conditions call for house arrest with electronic monitoring while the Maricopa County case proceeds.

Zucco also said she personally spoke with the victim in the Cochise County case about the dismissal. According to the County Attorney’s statement, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office has agreed to provide the victim with notifications and services and ensure her voice is heard as the Maricopa County proceedings continue. An MCAO victim advocate has already been in contact with her.

The Cochise County Attorney's Office emphasized that its decision to dismiss the Cochise County case was not based on concerns regarding the victim’s credibility.
