A COMMUNITY SHOWED UP WHEN A LOCAL FAMILY OWNED BUSINESS NEEDED IT MOST❤️
WILLCOX, Ariz. — What began as one of the hardest days for the Finley Family at Dos Cabezas Coffee Co. has turned into an incredible reminder of what can happen when a community comes together.
Earlier today, the family shared the heartbreaking reality that their coffee shop was struggling to keep its doors open. They were behind on bills, facing the possibility of having their electricity shut off, and preparing for the very real chance that today could be their final day in business.
Then, Willcox showed up.
Because of the overwhelming response from the community — people stopping in, making purchases, sharing their story and encouraging others to support them — the Finley Family says they were able to pay their electric bill and several other bills to begin catching up.
They are still working toward paying their rent, but because of YOU, their doors can remain open and this family-run business gets another chance to keep going.
D𝕠𝕤 C𝕒𝕓𝕖𝕫𝕒𝕤 C𝕠𝕗𝕗𝕖𝕖 C𝕠. has always been about more than coffee. The Finley Family wanted to create a place where the community could gather — a safe and welcoming space to work, spend time with family, hold events, enjoy food and simply feel like they belong.

COCHISE COUNTY SUPERVISORS DISCUSS DATA CENTER RULES, POTENTIAL ORDINANCE UPDATES
COCHISE COUNTY, Ariz. — The Cochise County Board of Supervisors held a work session Tuesday, August 25, to discuss the county’s existing regulations for data centers and potential updates to those ordinances.
County officials emphasized that the discussion does not involve approval or consideration of a specific large-scale data center project. Instead, the county is reviewing its regulations in preparation for the possibility that an application could be submitted in the future.
“The ordinance is not proposing a data center, our responsibility is to be prepared if one applies,” said Christine McLachlan, Director of Cochise County Development Services.
Under the existing ordinance, a proposed data center would be evaluated for potential impacts involving water, electricity, noise, the environment, traffic, infrastructure and compatibility with the county’s rural communities. New data center proposals would also be subject to the county’s special-use permit process and a public hearing, with the proposed development disclosed to the Board of Supervisors.
During the work session, Supervisor Frank Antenori said no large AI “hyperscale” data center — described during the discussion as a facility exceeding 500,000 square feet and using more than 5 megawatts of power — has applied to locate in Cochise County. Antenori also expressed the view that such a project is unlikely under current conditions because the necessary supporting infrastructure is not presently available in the county.
Officials noted that smaller facilities and server operations that can fall under the broader definition of “data centers” already exist locally, including systems supporting hospitals, Cox Communications and county offices. These operations are considerably smaller and use substantially less power than hyperscale facilities.
The Board discussed potentially amending the county’s definition of a data center to distinguish large hyperscale facilities using more than 5 megawatts from smaller server operations. Under the proposal discussed Tuesday, any future hyperscale data center application would be brought before the Board of Supervisors.
The county is also considering creating a public-facing website where residents could access documents related to any future data center applications, with the goal of improving transparency and public accessibility.
“Planning and Zoning are doing an incredible job, they are listening and are responsive,” Supervisor Kathleen Gomez said.
Tuesday’s meeting was a work session focused on reviewing and potentially updating county regulations. No hyperscale data center application is currently before the Board based on the information presented during the discussion.

REX ALLEN DAYS INC. BOARD MEMBER ARRESTED IN EMBEZZLEMENT INVESTIGATION‼️
WILLCOX, Ariz. — 66-year-old John Alan Oberreuter of Willcox has been identified as the Rex Allen Days Inc. board member arrested in connection with an investigation into the suspected embezzlement of approximately $48,000 from the organization.
According to a press release issued by the Willcox Police Department, the investigation began after an internal financial audit conducted by the Rex Allen Days Inc. board uncovered several financial anomalies, including missing funds. Board members then reported their concerns to law enforcement.
Police said detectives determined during the initial stages of the investigation that approximately $48,000 was missing from organizational accounts. The suspect was taken into custody and interviewed before detectives obtained a search warrant for the suspect’s residence.
According to police, evidence related to the suspected embezzlement was located during the search.
Investigators also reportedly uncovered information suggesting there may be additional victims. Police are working to identify those individuals and determine the extent of any potentially related crimes.
Willcox Police Chief Hadfield stated:
“Our department remains committed to supporting Rex Allen Days Inc. and their long-standing mission of providing a safe and enjoyable event for all residents each year. We take allegations of financial wrongdoing very seriously, especially when they affect community organizations that play such an important role in Willcox. We will continue working diligently to ensure a thorough and fair investigation.”
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional information is expected to be released as it becomes available.
Oberreuter is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
