🇺🇸🕊️ A LIFE OF SERVICE, LOVE, AND SELFLESSNESS HONORED 🕊️🇺🇸
Yesterday June 5, 2026, family, friends, fellow veterans, and community members gathered at the Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery to honor and celebrate the life of Sergeant Ivy Nichole Unruh.
The service was beautifully attended, filled with heartfelt memories, tears, laughter, and an overwhelming outpouring of love for a young woman whose impact on the world far exceeded her 25 years.
Ivy was many things to many people. She was a daughter, sister, friend, Marine, creator, animal lover, and protector. Known affectionately as “Boogie,” “Beastly,” “Bitely,” “Brooklyn,” and “Kid,” she left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her kindness was genuine, her loyalty unwavering, and her willingness to help others knew no bounds.
A proud United States Marine Corps Sergeant, Ivy served her country with honor and dedication. Even after transitioning to the active reserves, her commitment to service remained a defining part of who she was. She embodied the values of courage, selflessness, and sacrifice both in and out of uniform.
Beyond her military service, Ivy’s creative spirit shined brightly. Whether designing elaborate costumes, creating beautiful garments, caring for her beloved dogs, or simply making those around her smile, she approached life with passion, imagination, and heart.
Perhaps the greatest reflection of who Ivy was came in her final act of generosity. As an organ donor, she helped save the lives of six individuals, providing hope and healing to families she never had the opportunity to meet. Even in her passing, Ivy continued serving others.
Yesterday’s military honors served as a powerful reminder of the respect and gratitude owed to a woman who gave so much of herself to her family, her friends, her community, and her country.
While words can never fully capture the loss felt by those who loved her, the legacy Ivy leaves behind is one of compassion, strength, service, and love. Her story will continue to inspire others, and her memory will live on through the countless lives she touched.
On behalf of the entire CoolFMLive community, we extend our deepest condolences to Ivy’s family, friends, fellow Marines, and all who are grieving her loss.
🇺🇸 Rest easy, Sergeant Ivy Nichole Unruh.
Your watch has ended, but your legacy endures.

❤️ COMMUNITY SUPPORT NEEDED FOR THE GUTCHES FAMILY ❤️
Life can change in an instant, and right now the Gutches family is facing a challenging road ahead.
On May 15, Brett suffered a serious fall while at work, slipping from a 12-foot roof. As a result, he sustained fractures to both legs, including his right tibia near the ankle and his left tibia at the knee joint. Brett will undergo two separate surgeries to place rods and plates needed to stabilize and repair the injuries. Following surgery, he is expected to face a lengthy recovery process that could take six months or more before he is fully healed.
During this difficult time, his wife Taylor and their six children will be doing everything they can to support him while managing the daily needs of their family. Adding to the challenge, Taylor is scheduled to undergo a total hysterectomy on June 10 as part of treatment for endometriosis and to remove precancerous tissue that was discovered earlier this year.
As the family prepares for months of recovery and healing, community support can make a tremendous difference. A Meal Train has been organized to help provide meals and ease some of the day-to-day burdens they will be facing. For those who are able, there is also an option to contribute toward household expenses and medical-related costs during this time.
🔗 Meal Train & Donation Link: www.mealtrain.com/trains/992855
No family should have to face hardships like these alone. Let’s come together and show the Gutches family the strength, compassion, and generosity that make our community so special.
Please keep Brett, Taylor, and their six children in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate the weeks and months ahead.

🔥 Wildfire Risk Increasing Across the Southwest 🔥
The National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC) has released its latest National Significant Wildland Fire Potential Outlook, providing a look at wildfire conditions expected across the United States from June through September 2026.
According to the report, portions of the Southwest and other regions of the country are expected to experience above-normal significant wildfire potential during the summer months due to a combination of dry fuels, ongoing drought conditions in some areas, and seasonal weather patterns that can contribute to increased fire activity.
The outlook is developed by Predictive Services and is intended to help fire management agencies, emergency responders, and the public better understand anticipated wildfire risks in the months ahead.
What This Means for Residents:
- Stay informed about local fire restrictions and weather conditions.
- Be cautious with outdoor activities that could spark a fire.
- Create and maintain defensible space around homes and structures.
- Have an evacuation plan in place and ensure emergency supplies are ready.
- Sign up for local emergency alerts and notifications.
While the outlook does not predict specific fires, it serves as an important planning tool for communities, land managers, and firefighting agencies as they prepare for the upcoming wildfire season.
Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant throughout the summer and to follow guidance from local fire departments, emergency management officials, and land management agencies.
The full National Significant Wildland Fire Potential Outlook Executive Summary contains detailed maps, regional analyses, and wildfire potential forecasts for June through September 2026
Wildfire preparedness starts before a fire begins. Taking steps now can help protect lives, property, and our communities throughout the fire season.

❤️🚲 COMMUNITY KINDNESS ON FULL DISPLAY IN COCHISE COUNTY 🚲❤️
Stories like this are a reminder of what makes Cochise County such a special place to call home.
Recently, a local mother reached out in a Bisbee community Facebook group seeking help after her daughter’s bicycle was taken from their residence. Wanting to make a positive difference, members of the Cochise County Sheriff’s Assist Team stepped in to help.
Sheriff’s Assist Team members Daryl Kling and Mike Dominy worked together to provide the young girl with a replacement bicycle, ensuring she could once again enjoy the simple freedom and joy that comes with riding her bike.
The effort was made even more special thanks to the generosity of Coronado Cyclery, which provided a complete front and rear shifter set along with new grips at a heavily discounted price. The bicycle was repaired, upgraded, and prepared for its new owner with care and compassion.
In a heartfelt moment, the mother and daughter presented the team with a beautiful acrylic painting as a token of appreciation. While the bicycle brought smiles, the painting served as a reminder that acts of kindness often come full circle.
This story is a wonderful example of neighbors helping neighbors and organizations coming together to make a difference in the life of a local child.
A special thank you to Daryl Kling, Mike Dominy, the Cochise County Sheriff’s Assist Team, and Coronado Cyclery for demonstrating the power of community and compassion.

🤠🕊️ TOMBSTONE MOURNS THE LOSS OF A TRUE ORIGINAL 🕊️🤠
The Tombstone community is remembering and honoring the life of Louis J. Saladino, a man whose passion, dedication, and larger-than-life presence helped shape the spirit and character of “The Town Too Tough to Die.”
Louis passed away on May 26, 2026, at the age of 80.
Born in New York City and raised in the Bronx, Lou made Tombstone his home in the early 1990s, where he became a familiar and beloved figure to residents and visitors alike. Many knew him as the owner of the Boothill Gunslingers, bringing the history and excitement of the Old West to life through reenactments and performances at the O.K. Corral and Helldorado sites.
Lou was also well known for operating his iconic Butterfield Stage, traveling the streets of Tombstone alongside his trusted mule teams. Through his work, storytelling, and love for Arizona’s history, he helped create lasting memories for countless visitors from around the world.
Beyond his contributions to Tombstone tourism, Lou was an actor, performer, community member, and proud Charter Member of the American Legion Post 24 Legion Riders.
Those who knew Lou remember a man who embraced life, loved the Old West, and left an unmistakable mark on the community he cherished.
A special walkdown in Lou’s honor will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at High Noon, beginning at 6th Street and Allen Street in Tombstone.
As family, friends, and community members gather to celebrate his life, they will also celebrate the legacy of a man whose influence will continue to be felt throughout Tombstone for generations to come.
Our thoughts and condolences are with Lou’s wife Barbara, his family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by his friendship and dedication.
Ride on, Lou. Your legacy lives on in Tombstone.
