HOPES OF SV RED LOBSTER FADE: A running maybe half serious joke on Sierra Vista social media for years has been the hopes of a Red Lobster finally coming here one day! There has been even a page created called Sierra Vista Red Lobster
These hopes have gotten a big blow recently with some hard times hitting Red Lobsters across the country.
Red Lobster is reportedly considering filing for bankruptcy to relieve financial pressures that have weighed on the company.

UPDATE: POSSIBLE HIT AND RUN Motorcycle vs Vehicle just after 9am Wednesday with injury. North bound Coronado was blocked at Wilcox Drive.(Accident near the CVS store entrance) Rider was taken to Canyon Vista Medical Center and later to a Tucson hospital.

Initially it was believed to be a hit and run incident. Sierra Vista Police however are investigating further due to conflicting information on what exactly happened.
🚨ARREST MADE IN DOG ATTACK DEATH🚨The defendant from the June 2023 dog attack has been booked into jail. This comes after the change of the plea to guilty back in January. Shimira Sanches was booked on charges of negligent homicide and failing to post a vicious dog warning. We will post updates when they are available.
— Helene Jackson, an 84-year-old Sierra Vista resident, was killed by a dog attack June 23, 2023. Her dog was found deceased in the alley near where she was located.
The Sierra Vista Police Department responded to the area of Calle Del Norte after a 911 caller reported a dog attack in the alley between Meadowlark Drive and Calle Del Norte.
Officers arrived on the scene and found a dog attacking a male victim in the backyard of a residence on Calle Del Norte. Officers dispatched the dog and provided first aid to the victim until emergency medical assistance arrived. A second female victim was found in the alley behind the residence as a second dog returned to the same yard where the first attack occurred. The second dog was also dispatched by SVPD officers.
Helene Jackson, an 84-year-old Sierra Vista resident, was transported to the Canyon Vista Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries Friday night. Her dog was found deceased in the alley near where she was located.
Sam Sanches Jr., a 53-year-old Sierra Vista resident, was transported to Banner Medical Center in Tucson where he remains in critical condition from his injuries.
The three deceased dogs were secured by the Sierra Vista Police Department’s Animal Control Office.

Cochise College student-athlete Micayla Silas and her family will present information about their culture through song and dance. An exhibit of Micayla’s photography will be on display.
Performers will share the cultural importance of the traditions of the Nakota, Salt River Pima and Oneida tribes.

KUDOS TO Sierra Vista Fire Department who responded to a trauma injury on Snead Dr around 2:30 Monday afternoon. When firefighters arrived, a female victim was trapped underneath a white Toyota Sienna minivan. Crews used extrication tools to lift the van up and free the patient. The women was behind the vehicle when it rolled backwards over her and trapped her underneath. She was transported to Canyon Vista Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries.
