BENEFIT CONCERT: The Shine Benefit Concert Saturday April 4th from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at The Old Door Shop 5930 AZ-92, Hereford, AZ.
The evening will feature a string quartet performing hit songs about women's empowerment, followed by an after-party with performances by professional acrobats.
All proceeds benefit The Hattie B girls confidence camp operated by the nonprofit Hattie B. Black Women In Progress (BWIP) in Sierra Vista, AZ, a mentorship program for girls aged 7-18 designed to foster self-confidence, leadership, and STEM skills. Founded by Acacia Barnett, it offers year-round, safe, and supportive environments, including summer activities, coding, and outdoor education.
Founded by Sierra Vista native Acacia Barnett, the camp serves to educate, mentor, and empower future generations, particularly within Black communities but all are welcome.

🚨 SIERRA VISTA 911 🚨 3 Year Old Nearly Drowns at Sierra Vista Apartment Pool
At approximately 6:55 p.m. Friday evening 03/20/26 Sierra Vista Police and Sierra Vista Fire & Medical responded to a near drowning involving a 3 year old child at the outdoor pool of the Garden Plaza Apartments, located at 100 E. Golf Links Road.
Upon arrival, first responders found the child conscious and coughing up water. The child is expected to be okay.
As temperatures rise and more families spend time around pools and other bodies of water, this incident serves as an important reminder to stay alert and exercise extreme caution when children are near water.

🚧 TRAFFIC ALERT: Train Blocking Multiple Roads in Benson 🚧
The Benson Police Department is advising the public of a significant traffic issue impacting parts of Cochise County this afternoon.
According to officials, a Union Pacific train experienced a malfunction around 12:30 PM and is currently blocking streets including:
Patagonia, San Pedro Rds. at 4th Street and Airport Rd
⚠️ There is no exact estimated time for repairs, but delays could last up to 24 hours.
What you need to know:
• Detour signs and cones are already in place at affected intersections
• Union Pacific is working to bring in another engine to move train cars and hopefully reopen Airport Rd
• Traffic along 4th Street is expected to be heavily impacted

Officials recommend accessing the area via I-10 Exit 304 to avoid major congestion.
