🚨VEHICLE PURSUIT ENDS IN ROLLOVER CRASH ON HIGHWAY 191; MULTIPLE INJURIES REPORTED.
The Cochise County Sheriff's Office is advising that at 6:57 pm, Deputies attempted to stop an older-model suburban on westbound Interstate 10, resulting in the driver of the vehicle failing to yield.
The vehicle continued traveling at a high rate of speed and taking evasive maneuvers in order to avoid being stopped by law enforcement before leaving the Interstate on Highway 191, and avoiding tire deflation devices.
Benson Police Department and Willcox Police Department officers were assisting in the attempt to stop the vehicle.
Benson Police Department Officers were able to conduct a PIT maneuver for the safety of the motoring public near milepost 52 on Highway 191, and the vehicle rolled over, ejecting multiple occupants.
The driver of the vehicle, a 16-year-old male from New Mexico, and a passenger, a 16-year-old male, from New Mexico, were identified as transporting the remaining six passengers, who were undocumented immigrants, to an unknown location.
CCSO will assume custody of the driver; at least two of the passengers are being airlifted from the scene by medical air assets; and the Arizona Department of Public Safety regional accident investigation team is responding to conduct the accident investigation.
Medical units from Willcox Fire, Elfrida Fire, Sunsites-Pearce Fire, HCI, and Lifeline all responded to assist with the injured subjects.
Highway 191 between Dragoon Road and the Power Plant is closed until further notice.

Court records indicate Dominguez is wanted on multiple felony charges, including:

▪️ Criminal Street Gang Assist and Riot

The Sierra Vista City Council has approved the updated Vista 2040 General Plan, moving it forward for consideration by voters during the November 3, 2026 General Election.
According to City officials, the General Plan serves as a long-term roadmap that helps guide the community’s vision and priorities over the next decade. The plan addresses topics such as land use, transportation, economic development, parks and recreation, public safety, infrastructure, and community growth.
City officials emphasized that adoption of the General Plan does not change zoning, approve development projects, authorize construction, increase taxes, or appropriate funding. Instead, it serves as a planning document that helps guide future decisions as Sierra Vista continues to grow and evolve.
Residents interested in learning more about the Vista 2040 General Plan can review the document and related information at Engage.SierraVistaAZ.gov.
In other business during Thursday’s meeting, the City of Sierra Vista Council:
* Recognized the 2025 Sierra Vista Fire & Medical Services award recipients.
* Approved acceptance of a $193,503 Stonegarden Grant to reimburse mileage and overtime costs associated with joint border security operations.
* Approved acceptance of $6,553 in Tucson High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Grant Program funds to reimburse the City for an ATV purchased during a joint fraud investigation with Homeland Security Investigations.
* Approved an Industrial Development Authority bond for the PLC Charter Schools Project.
* Approved a settlement agreement in the matter of Flynn v. City of Sierra Vista.
Residents can review meeting documents and supporting materials from the June 11 City Council meeting on the City’s website.
