WEEKLY WEATHER OUTLOOK: MONSOON CHANCES CONTINUE

We begin the week with a Flash Flood Watch in effect through this evening as the potential for heavy rainfall moves across Cochise County. While not everyone will experience flooding, storms that develop today could produce intense rainfall in a short amount of time, making localized flooding possible in low-lying areas, washes, and roadways.

Looking ahead, daily chances for showers and thunderstorms remain in the forecast throughout the week as the monsoon pattern continues across southeastern Arizona. Residents can expect periods of sunshine mixed with afternoon and evening storm chances each day.

Temperatures will remain comfortable for this time of year, with daytime highs near 90 degrees and overnight lows in the upper 60s, offering a welcome break from the more intense summer heat.

If you have outdoor plans this week, keep an eye on the forecast each afternoon, as storm development can change quickly. Remember, Turn Around, Don’t Drown—never attempt to drive through flooded roadways.

⚾️ Douglas Juniors Little League Team Need Our help to Reach Regionals 🧢 only $1700 has been raised to have team go to regionals in Bens Oregon after winning state on Friday. There first gane is Thursday at 10am. They are considering camping at this point if they must.

Hi, my name is Cynthia Calhoun, treasure for Douglas Little League.

We are incredibly proud of all of our All-Star teams! This year, Douglas Little League had three teams representing our community at the Arizona State Tournament.

First, we would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our sponsors and to everyone who supported our fundraiser tournament, scratch ticket fundraiser, and concession stand throughout the season. Because of your generosity, we were able to rent three Airbnbs for our teams and provide groceries and daily meals for our players and coaches during the State Tournament. Your support made a tremendous difference, and we are truly grateful.

Now, we're asking for your support once again.

Our Juniors Baseball All-Star team has earned the opportunity to represent Douglas Little League at the Regional Tournament in Bend, Oregon! This is an incredible accomplishment, and we couldn't be more proud of these young athletes.

Unfortunately, due to a weather delay last Saturday, the Arizona State Championship game was postponed and rescheduled for tonight, July 17, 2026, instead of July 15. Because of this unexpected delay, we now have only two days to raise the funds needed to send our boys to Oregon. The Regional Tournament begins on July 22, 2026, and all travel arrangements—including flights, van rental, and lodging—must be finalized by Monday.

Due to the limited time between the State Tournament and Regionals, we are unable to hold our normal fundraising events. That is why we are reaching out to our amazing community for help in making this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity possible for our players.

If you are able to help, no matter the amount, we kindly ask that you make a donation using the Douglas Little League Square donation link. Every contribution will go directly toward helping our team reach Regionals and proudly represent Douglas, Arizona.

All funds raised will be used by Douglas Little League to help cover tournament expenses for our Juniors Baseball All-Star team. Any remaining funds after the tournament will remain with Douglas Little League and will be used toward next season's league chartering fees and insurance, ensuring they continue to benefit our players and the future of our league.

💧SAN PEDRO RIVER COMES BACK TO LIFE AFTER MONSOON RAINS💧

The power of Arizona’s monsoon season is on full display.

After months of concern over dry conditions throughout the San Pedro River watershed, recent monsoon storms have brought a welcome surge of flowing water back to the river. This video, captured on July 18, 2026, showcases the San Pedro River running once again—a promising sight for one of the Southwest’s most important riparian ecosystems.

While it will take continued rainfall and time for the watershed to fully recover, scenes like this offer hope that this year’s active monsoon season is helping replenish the river, support local wildlife, recharge groundwater, and restore the landscape after an exceptionally dry start to the year.
