โผ๏ธ JUVENILES ARRESTED IN DOUGLAS HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL FIELD VANDALISM CASE โผ๏ธ
DOUGLAS, Ariz. โ The Douglas Police Department has announced three arrests in connection with the vandalism reported at the Douglas High School football field earlier this month.
According to a media release from Douglas Police Department, detectives arrested three juveniles on September 15, 2026, in connection with the criminal damage incident that was reported on September 2.
Police identified the suspects as three juveniles, ages 14, 15 and 16. All three are from Bisbee, Arizona.
Each juvenile was charged with:
โข Aggravated Criminal Damage
โข Trespassing in the Second Degree
According to Douglas Police, incarceration was declined for all three juveniles. Juvenile referrals were forwarded to juvenile court, and all three were released to their legal guardians.
The arrests come nearly two weeks after damage was discovered at the Douglas High School football field ahead of the historic BisbeeโDouglas Pick football game.
CoolFMLive originally reported on the vandalism as authorities began investigating the incident. At that time, no suspects had been publicly identified.
This remains a juvenile court matter. CoolFMLive will continue to provide updates if additional information is released by authorities.

๐ REMEMBERING ETHAN GIRDNER- FOREVER A COLT
The Sierra Vista and Buena High School communities are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Ethan Girdner, a former Buena High School student and soccer player who later moved to Oklahoma.
Ethan tragically lost his life in a vehicle accident. Additional details surrounding the accident have not yet been released, and today, the focus is on remembering the young man Ethan was, the lives he touched, and the memories he leaves behind.
For those who knew Ethan through Buena Boys Soccer, he was far more than a talented athlete. He was a teammate, a friend, a son, and a young man remembered for his smile, character and passion.
Ethan will forever hold a special place in Buena soccer history. As a freshman, he helped the Buena Boys Soccer team capture its first-ever Region Championship.
That championship will forever be part of Buenaโs history โ and so will Ethan.
Those who shared the field with him remember someone who played with passion and heart and led through his actions. But the memories that matter most go far beyond wins and championships.
They are the practices, bus rides and long evenings at the soccer field. The laughter between teammates. The encouragement after a difficult play. The friendships built along the way and the countless ordinary moments that become priceless when someone is gone.
Although Ethanโs journey eventually took him from Sierra Vista to Oklahoma, the friendships and memories he made here remained part of his story.
His loss is being felt by family, friends, former classmates, teammates, coaches and soccer families both here in Arizona and in Oklahoma.
There are simply no words that can make the loss of a young life easier.
Please keep Ethanโs family, friends, teammates, coaches and everyone who loved him in your thoughts during the incredibly difficult days ahead.
A GoFundMe has been established to help Ethanโs family during this time:

Forever a teammate. Forever a champion. Forever part of the Buena soccer family.
Rest easy, Ethan Girdner.
Your smile, your spirit and the memories you created both on and off the field will never be forgotten. โค๏ธโฝ

ARIZONA MOTORCYCLISTS: NEW LANE-SPLITTING LAW NOW IN EFFECTโผ๏ธ
Motorcyclists across Arizona should be aware of an important change to state law that took effect September 12, 2026.
Under the updated A.R.S. ยง 28-693 and ยง 28-903, certain forms of illegal lane splitting are now specifically classified as reckless driving.
The law applies when a motorcycle operator illegally passes an occupied vehicle within the same lane or rides between lanes of traffic or adjacent rows of vehicles, except when the stateโs legal lane-filtering exception applies.
Reckless driving is a Class 2 misdemeanor in Arizona. A conviction may also result in a judge ordering driving privileges suspended for up to 90 days. Repeat offenses can carry significantly stronger penalties.
โ ๏ธ LANE FILTERING IS STILL LEGAL.
Arizona law continues to allow a two-wheeled motorcycle to move past stopped traffic when it can be done safely and all of these requirements are met:
โข The roadway has at least two adjacent lanes traveling in the same direction.
โข The posted speed limit is 45 mph or less.
โข The motorcycle travels no faster than 15 mph.
The simple takeaway: Lane splitting and lane filtering are not the same thing. Arizona still permits lane filtering under specific conditions, but illegal lane splitting can now result in a reckless-driving charge.
Motorcyclists and drivers are encouraged to understand the updated law and continue watching out for one another on Arizona roads.

โผ๏ธTHREE ARRESTED FOLLOWING TRESPASSING INCIDENT AT BORDER WALL CONSTRUCTION SITEโผ๏ธ
The Cochise County Sheriff's Office - Mark J. Dannels Sheriff has released the following information regarding the arrest of three individuals following a reported trespassing incident involving protesters at a restricted border wall construction site.
The following press release is quoted in its entirety:
โCOCHISE COUNTY, Ariz. โ The Cochise County Sheriffโs Office responded to a reported trespassing incident involving multiple protesters at a restricted construction area along the international border, east of the Santa CruzโCochise County line.
Security personnel working for the construction company contacted the individuals and advised them they were not authorized to remain in the area. The individuals were directed to leave but refused to comply.
Several individuals subsequently moved farther into the restricted area and accessed construction materials intended for use in the border wall project. Their actions created a safety and security concern for the protesters, construction personnel, private security personnel, and responding law enforcement officers.
Deputies responded to the scene and took enforcement action. Three individuals were arrested and booked into the Cochise County Jail on charges of disorderly conduct.
Sheriff Mark Dannels stated:
โThe Cochise County Sheriffโs Office respects the right of individuals to peacefully protest and express their views. That right, however, does not extend to trespassing, damaging property, interfering with lawful operations, or creating a safety hazard, and we take a zero-tolerance approach to these actions.
Our responsibility is to protect the public, protect property, and enforce the law fairly and consistently. When individuals cross that line and violate the law, they should expect law enforcement to take appropriate action.
No one is above the law. We will continue to respond to these incidents in a coordinated, professional, and deliberate manner. Our expectation is simple: individuals may exercise their lawful rights, but they must also comply with the law.โ
The Sheriffโs Office will continue coordinating with federal authorities, construction personnel, and security partners regarding law enforcement and public safety concerns associated with activities in and around restricted construction areas.
The Cochise County Sheriffโs Office encourages individuals participating in demonstrations to remain in areas where they are legally permitted and to follow lawful directions from security personnel and law enforcement officers.โ

โก๐ด LIGHTNING STRIKE IGNITES PALM TREE IN SIERRA VISTAโผ๏ธ
SIERRA VISTA, AZ โ Emergency crews are on scene in the 900 block of Charles Drive after a palm tree was reportedly struck by lightning and caught fire amid storm activity in the area.
Residents are urged to remain weather-aware as thunderstorms continue to produce lightning across the region. Lightning can ignite trees, vegetation and other materials, and in some cases, smoke or fire may not become immediately noticeable following a strike.
If you see smoke, flames or signs of a possible fire following a lightning strike, keep a safe distance and report it to emergency services. Do not approach a burning or recently struck tree, especially while lightning remains in the area.
Anyone outdoors should seek shelter inside a substantial building or enclosed vehicle when thunder is heard and avoid trees, open areas and exposed locations until the storm has safely passed.
CoolFMLive is following the situation and will provide additional information if it becomes available.
